Darlene Fultz Goodley, 79, passed away September 30, 2022 while living in San Antonio in her son’s residence. She was born January 1, 1943 in Harlingen, Texas, along with her twin sister Arlene Fultz.
Darlene was a career beautician and the owner of Hair Affair in Harlingen, Texas. She was known for her compassionate, caring, and fun-loving nature; there was not a person that she would not help, following the example of Christ, our Savior.
She lived in Harlingen for most of her life. In 2006, she and her husband, Hal V. Goodley, moved to San Antonio, Texas to be with her son’s family and retire. She was a wonderful mother and an even more amazing grandmother. She was able to spend the last seventeen years of her life with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.
Darlene’s husband, Hal V. Goodley; her father, Lonnie H. Fultz, and her mother, Cora Fultz, preceded her in death.
Left to treasure her memory is her son, Shane (Zoila) Hurley of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Kyleen and Connor; brother, Kenneth (Ruth) Fultz; and sisters, Arlene Gray and Wanda Fultz. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to our family members and our dear friend, Doug Frye, for their support, as well as to Pride PHC Services and to Darlene’s caregivers, Bertha Gonzalez and Mariam Bustos-Carrion.
Darlene’s family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, October 5, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home.
