Yvonne Moseley, 86, passed away September 2, 2008 at her residence in Harlingen, Texas. Yvonne was born December 13, 1921 in Emerson, AR to Orion Clay Hartsell and Florence Dumas.
Teacher, mother and beloved wife, Yvonne Moseley devoted her life to her family and to the students she taught. After receiving her degree in home economic from Texas Tech University, she taught high school students in Orange, Sudan and Kingsville, Texas and primary school students at Travis Elementary School in Harlingen. She was active in the Parent-Teachers Association and served as Harlingen’s Chairman of Texas Public Schools week. Yvonne was a Paul Harris fellow. After retiring, she volunteered at Long Elementary School. She enjoyed designing and sewing clothes, drawing and photography.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Nichols and her brother, Horace Hartsell.
Yvonne is survived by her husband, William Thomas Moseley, DVM; daughters, Marilyn Moseley (Joseph Vincent) LaMantia and Brenda Moseley (Steven A.) Holt; grandsons, Houston Wood Deaton and Joseph Vincent LaMantia IV; granddaughter, Angela Renee LaMantia; great granddaughter, Hope Yvonne Deaton; and her brother, William Hartsell.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 5, 2008 from 12 noon to 9 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008, 10 a.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Jake Vincent, officiating. Entombment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
