Yolanda V. Ibarra, 73, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, in San Benito, Texas. Born on November 7, 1951, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, she was the daughter of Guadalupe Villanueva and San Jose de la Luz Villanueva.
Yolanda was a proud high school graduate who later pursued and obtained a business degree. Throughout her life, she held her Catholic faith close to her heart. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, watching educational documentaries on the History Channel, as well as Rock & Roll Hall of Fame shows. She had a particular fondness for Oldies music, spanning the decades from the 1950s to the 1970s.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Guadalupe and San Jose de la Luz Villanueva. Yolanda is survived by her loving sisters, Mary Maldonado (Roberto), Ludivina Ramirez (Gilberto), and Blanca Guzman (Guillermo); her brother, Jose Villanueva (Mari); extended brother, Joe Torres; as well as her cherished nephews and niece: John Ramirez, Eric Ramirez, Michael Guzman, Jason Guzman, Joshua Gonzalez, and Veronica Ramirez. Additionally, she leaves behind two grandnephews, one great-nephew, multiple cousins, two aunts, Chata and Pipia; and her best friend, Sylvia.
The family expresses profound gratitude to the dedicated staff at Harlingen Medical Center ICU and the nursing staff on the third floor, as well as all the physicians at Harlingen Medical Center. Special thanks are extended to the staff at US Renal Care, including Dr. J. Flores, Dr. Bhatla, Dr. R. Lopez, Dr. Evans, and the doctors at the Gulf Coast Eye Clinic for their compassionate care.
The Ibarra family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock Tuesday evening. Services will conclude that evening.

Yolanda will be remembered for her kindness, love of family, and the joy she brought to those around her.
