William David Thacker (Bill) born on July 5, 1937 in Aurora, IL, passed peacefully from this earth on November 1st, 2013 with his wife and daughters around him. Residing in South Texas since 1976, for the majority of time in Port Isabel, where he touched every persons’ life he met as an active member of the community. Remembered for his strength, heart and humor he will be greatly missed.
Bill was a 3rd degree Master Mason of the Brownsville Masonic Lodge #81, Point Isabel Lodge #33, Tranquility Lodge #2000, A F & A.M. Corpus Christi Commandery #57 Knights Templar, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry; Eastern Star #30, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 400, Painters District Council #30, Secretary of Midwest PRCA Association, Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Board in Port Isabel, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Norm and Mildred Thacker, a son Richard Yates, a niece and a nephew.
Bill is survived by his wife Donna Johnson Thacker whom he married on Oct. 26, 1986, his sister Nancy Thom, his ex-wife Judith Ann Thacker, son, William Brad Thacker (Julie), daughters, Melissa Beth Thacker and Kyna Bett Farmer (Gary), grandchildren; Chris, Will, Lauren, Jacob and Kaitlyn; Great-grandchildren; Casey, Noah and Elijah.
