HARLINGEN:
William G. Tallon, 78, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at his residence.
William was born April 1, 1929 in Lamar, South Carolina to Paul K Tallon, Sr. and Annie Gopfert. He graduated from high school in 1947. After high school he worked on the railroad until he joined the Air Force.
After serving 25 years in the Air Force he went to college and got his Master’s degree in education. William was a teacher and principal for 20 years in Mercedes, Raymondville and West Texas.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rites, and Shrines Jamil Lodge. William loved wood working, gardening, coin collecting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Judi (Robin) DeHart and Vikki (Rudy) Rudloff; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joel) Gil, Billy Rudloff, Jerald (Sheri) Garrett, James Rudloff and Jessica Garrett; step grandchildren, Michael (Mindy) DeHart and Dustin DeHart; great grandchildren Bradley Gil and Sidney Gil, step-great grandchild Danielle DeHart; and step daughters, Carolyn Caul and family and Yvonne Carter and family.
William was preceded in death by his first wife, Christina J. Tallon, second wife, Mary Hill Cox Tallon; his parents, Paul and Annie Tallon, brothers, Francis Tallon, P.K. Tallon Jr., George Tallon and James Tallon and sister, Doris T. Rowell.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2007 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 23, 2007, 2 p.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Chaplain Steve Neesley officiating. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
Pallbearers will be Robin DeHart, Joel Gil, Jerald Garret, and Michael DeHart.
