William S. Shedler, 86, passed away June 24 with his wife, Jeanne and daughter Mary Jean, at his side.
William was born May 29, 1930 in Stevens Point, WI and attended Lincoln High School in Wis. Rapids, WI where his family resided, graduated in 1948. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Signal Corps.
Upon his honorable discharge from the service he joined American Telephone & Telegraph Co. and travelled extensively while holding various management positions. He retired from AT & T after 35 years of service and with his wife, Jeanne, moved to Harlingen, TX. He served as a Eucharistic Minister, along with his wife, Jeanne, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
While living in Wis. Bill did volunteer work for the Senior Citizen Center, driving seniors to doctor and hospital appointments. He and Jeanne also served as Eucharistic Ministers in their parish there. He enjoyed golf, bowling and playing cards.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jeanne Cassidy Shedler of 64 yrs. He is also survived by daughter Mary Jean along with husband James: 3 grandsons, James, Jason and Jonathan; and 4 great grandsons. He was preceded in death by a son Scott William and parents.
Bill was cremated per his wishes and no services are scheduled at this time.
