William "Chuck" Jockers, 81, of Havertown PA, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away at his home on December 18th
Chuck was born in College Point, NY June 5, 1927. Chuck married Margaret Hartmann also of College Point they moved to Huntington, NY in 1959 and later relocated to Harlingen, TX in 1976. Margaret passed away in 1995, Chuck married Lana Capici of Havertown, PA in 2004.
Chuck served in the US NAVY from 1945 to 1948 and again from 1950 to 1951 during WWII and the Korean War. He was employed by NY Telephone and Southwestern Bell for 35 plus years until retiring in 1989 and was a long time member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Chuck was a personal friend of Buster Crabbe whom he met during the 1939 NY Worlds Fair, and later traveled the country with Buster and the water shows.
Chuck was an active member in the Commemorative Air Force since 1976 and led the CAF Security Detachment for many years.
Chuck was survived by his wife, Lana of Havertown PA; son, Wayne and his wife Lois; and 4 grandchildren, Darrah, Blayne, Taylor and Kade of Grand Prairie TX.
A graveside service will be held at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito TX at 12 noon on Saturday December 27th with Rev. David Mann officiating.
