William Frank Culver Jr

William Francis “Frank” Culver Jr., 83, passed at his home in La Feria on Feb. 13, 2017
Frank was born in Carlsbad, NM on Jan. 15, 1934 to William Francis Culver, Sr. and Helen (Leonard) Culver. He had two sisters Verna and Patricia and one brother John L. Culver.
Frank owned and operated a family owned Outdoor Amusement Business serving family entertainment to millions of people at fairs and festivals throughout Texas and the Central United States. He was life time member of the Outdoor Amusement Business Association of America as well as the Texas Lone Star Showman’s Association. He retired in 1994. He was a longtime parishioner of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in La Feria.
Frank married Judy (Wisdom) Culver on March 28th 1986 and joined two families into 6 loving children.
He is survived by his wife Judy (Wisdom) Culver of La Feria; children, Joe (Annette) Culver of Casa Grande, AZ, William F. (Kelli) Culver III of Murphy, TX, Lori (Ron) Hayes of San Antonio, Tracy Culver of Celina, TX, Don Culver of Harlingen, TX, Ken (Rhonda) Johnson of Tucson, AZ; sister Patricia (James) Goolsby of Ft. Worth, TX; sister-in-law Mary Jo Culver of Austin, TX; his aunt Betty Maloney of Texarkana, 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also surviving are niece Kimberly (Johnny) Maple of La Feria, TX; many nieces and nephews that will lovingly remember him as Uncle Frank; lifelong friends Bruce and Pat Williams of Ruskin, FL; good friends and neighbors George and Julie Dale and family of La Feria, Lupe and Hector and the staff at the Santa Rosa Coffee Shop, and Martin Villanueva of Harlingen, TX.
Awaiting him in Heaven are his parents, sister Verna Lusk and brother John L. Culver.
The family would like to thank Dr. O’Donnell and staff as well as Dr. Charles Mild and staff for their care and compassion.
A mass will be held at 2 pm on Friday, Feb. 17th at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in La Feria, TX. Visitation hours will be from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, Feb. 18th at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm. Saturday, Feb. 18th at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria.
