William Ford Barnes, III

William Ford Barnes III, 74, passed away on November 13, 2014 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.
Ford was born October 21, 1940 in Tulsa, OK to William “Billy” Ford Barnes Jr. and Velma Dorine Adams Barnes.  He attended and graduated from Weslaco High School and then married Katherine Holt Barnes.  Ford was employed with Varmicon (aka Valley Ready Mix) for over 40 years and was also employed with Alamo Cement.  Ford attended the First Baptist Church in Weslaco and then the First Christian Church in Harlingen.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, improving his golf game and trying for another hole in one.
Ford is survived by his wife, Katherine Holt Barnes of Harlingen, TX; daughter, Christie Barnes Andersen of San Francisco, CA; brother, Fred Barnes of Houston; and sisters, Barbara Barnes Hayes and Debbie Braley both of Waco, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father, William “Billy” Ford Barnes Jr.; mother, Velma Dorine Barnes; and daughter, Kelli Denise Barnes.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 1 pm, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito with Rev. Mark Coppins officiating.
