Wanda Pierce Bennett, 57, of Harlingen, TX, died peacefully in her home to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on April 3, 2018. She was born in Hattiesburg, MS on November 26, 1960 to the late Bill and Gayle Pierce (Kight). In 1990 she married the love of her life, a faithful friend and caretaker, Darrell Bennett.
Mrs. Bennett graduated from Seminary High School, MS and later attended TSTC. She was previously employed at Dolly Vincent. She was a loving wife, mother, and “Nana”. She enjoyed making cards with the girls every Tuesday, scrapbooking, ministering to children just as Jesus commanded, and was very active in local Emmaus group and church.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Bennett; sons Charles Redmond (Jamie) and Brett Bennett (Kara); daughter, Amber Gayle Redmond (Ramon Galvan); brothers Wayne Pierce (Jodi) and Mike Kight (Landy); sisters Margie Diller and Sandee Morison (Neal); 15 grandchildren; step-mother, Annette Pierce; and aunts Jimmi (Arno), Ester (Lawrence), and Sarah.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was predeceased by her step-father, Joe Kight.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 6th, at 11:00 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Harlingen with Pastor J.J. Wicke officiating.
