Walter William Wilson

Walter William Wilson 82, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 29, 2017. Walter was born on August 4, 1993 to Ray Author & Nanny Mae Wilson in Lincolnton, North Carolina.
Walter was a Military Veteran serving in two branches which were the Army and Air Force. He served in the Korea Conflict and the Vietnam War, he was a Technical Sergeant. In his military career Walter received a lot of training and many awards. Walter retired as a correction officer for the State Department of Corrections in North Carolina after 15 years of service.
Walter is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty Jean Hoffman Wilson, son Christopher Ray Wilson, and daughter Theresa Renate Wilson.
Left to cherish his memory are: Walter David (Deborah) Wilson), Christopher Ray Wilson, Elizabeth Leigh (Stephen) Slavens and Theresa Renate Wilson. His Grandchildren: Kenneth Osborne, William Osborne, Chris Mercer, Daniel Wilson, Aaron Wilson Shuford, Jeffrey Schronce Wilson and 6 Great Grandchildren. Walter’s hobby was his love for watching football.
The family would like to thank the medical staff of Harlingen Medical Center, especially the ER and the ICU for all the care they gave. In lieu of flowers family request that a tree be planted or donations be made to a Veteran’s cause.
Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at San Benito Funeral Home, 1400 W. Business 77, San Benito, Texas
