Walter Harrison Hill

Walter Harrison Hill, 68, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 13, 2014 in Laredo, Texas.
Walter was born July 10, 1945 to Walter Harrison Hill, Sr. and Bessie (Polk) Hill in Combes, Texas. He married Mary Ellen Fankhauser. Walter had a CDL License and was employed as a truck driver with William Cameron and Company which went to be named William Cameron Wholesales and then went to be name Certainteed Building Products, then went on to be named Cameron Ashley which went to be named Guardian Building Products in Harlingen and Guardian Building Product in San Antonio, all one company for 50 years as of February 11, 2014.
He was a member of Combes Baptist Church. Walter enjoyed camping, fishing, walking, cleaning his company Semi (always cleaning), motorcycle riding and odds and ends projects at home such as building buildings and fixing roofs.  He also enjoyed watching his grandkids in their activities and helping them learn new things, riding horses, vacationing, traveling and playing Santa in the Combes Christmas Parade.
He is survived by his wife Mary Hill of Combes, TX; children, Walter (Jessie) Hill III of San Benito, TX, Christie Hill of Harlingen, TX, and Kevin (Amanda) Hill of Combes, TX; grandchildren, Camryn Hill, Kathryn Lafferty, Connor Lafferty and Trinity Hill; step-brother, James Bryant; and friend,  James Warner.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Walter Hill, Sr.; sister Bertie Lee Summa and step-brother, Harold Eugene Bryant.
Visitation hours will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Combes Cemetery with Chris O’Loughlin officiating.
