Wallace Ted “Wally” Krueger, of Harlingen, Texas, peacefully passed from this life October 30, 2021 at 91 years of age. He was born to the late Arthur and Alvina Krueger on January 21, 1930.
He served in the U.S. Army, 300th Armored Field Artillery during the Korean War and attained the rank of Sergeant. He was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds suffered in combat. He was also awarded the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, the U.N. Service Medal, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, and the Meritorious Unit Citation.
After completing his military service, Wally attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis and graduated in 1955.
He met and married the love of his life, Elaine, on June 23, 1956. They were happily married for 65 years at the time of his passing.
He was an entrepreneur and, for twenty years until his retirement, owned his own business. In his leisure time, Wally enjoyed golfing and spent many a day with some of his best friends on the golf course.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a lifetime member of the American Legion, and a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Harlingen.
Wally was preceded in death by a baby son, his parents, and a sister.
Left to treasure his memory is his loving wife, Elaine Krueger; sons, Gary (Lori) Krueger and Wayne (Madonna) Krueger; grandchildren, Shane (Marisa), Allison, Chad (Jacqueline), Aaron, six nieces; and all his golfing buddies.
