W. Orren Ketchum

Harlingen:
W. Orren Ketchum, 88, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at his residence in Harlingen. He was born April 29, 1923 in Milwaukee, WI and spent his early years there.
Orren later joined the US Navy and served during World War II on a Navy Destroyer. After his military service he resided in Mapleplaine, MN for many years where he operated an agriculture feed store. After retiring, Orren moved to Brownsville, TX where he resided for 21 years before moving to Harlingen a year ago. He was a member of V.F.W, U.S. Power Squadron Boating and of the First Baptist Church in Combes.
Orren is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Ketchum of Harlingen; son, Larry Ketchum of St. Cloud, MN; daughter, Jane Ketchum of Sacramento, CA; four grandchildren; one great grandson; step-daughter, Kimberly Mutterspaugh of Ambridge, PA; step-son, Eric Magnuson; one step grandson.
Memorial services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Combes, 10:00 AM, Friday, January 20, 2012 with the Rev. Steve Wiest officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church- Combes, 402 Templeton St., Combes, TX 78535.
