Vivian Jackson, 54, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 1, 2014 in Harlingen, TX.
Vivian was born January 8, 1960 in Harlingen to Lonnie B., Sr. (deceased) and Charlie Mae Jackson. Vivian attended Gay Jr. High and Harlingen High School (Class of ’78). Vivian continued her education at Texas A & I – Kingsville, receiving a Bachelor of Arts (English and Sociology). Her profession was teaching and she began this career in Corpus Christi teaching at Richard King High School and Mary Carroll High School. After her years teaching in Corpus Christi, Vivian ventured off and continued her teaching career in Houston, Texas at Landrum Middle School.
Vivian had a zest for life. She loved having a good time with family and friends. Vivian also enjoyed writing poetry, watching movies and playing games.
Vivian is survived by the apple of her eye, her son Gerald Allen, II; her mother Charlie Mae Jackson (Luke Mitchell) of Harlingen, Texas; siblings: Donald Ray Buster; Randall Buster (Nelda); Carolyn Buster (deceased); Sheila Jackson; Alma Vasquez; Lonnie Jackson, Jr.; Johnnie Jackson (Nina); nieces: Natasha Jackson (Maurice); Reba Gibson (Robert); Natalie Vasquez; Bianca Smith; Kimberley Vasquez; a grand nephew Maurice Jr. “MJ” and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will begin on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 9:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am, at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 710 Ed Carey Drive, Harlingen, TX 78550. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
