Virginia Rose Ballenger, 93, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at her residence in Harlingen.
Virginia was born April 4, 1920 in Devol, Oklahoma to Charles Ray Glidewell and Erna Lee Pitcock. She was raised in the Burkburnett, Texas area and moved to San Benito in her late teens. She was a longtime resident and a former member of the First Baptist Church in San Benito.
Virginia is survived by her son, Joe C. Ballenger, Sr. and his wife, Rebecca of Harlingen; grandchildren, Joe Charles Ballenger and his wife, Nicole of Boerne, TX and Leslie Katherine Ballenger of Thomasville, GA; great-grandchildren, Colwynn Lee Ballenger of Manhattan, KS, Joe Edward Ballenger of Boerne, TX, Jack Perry Ballenger of Boerne, TX and Nicholas Gage Ballenger of Boerne, TX. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lee Ballenger.
Graveside services only will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel at Mont Meta Memorial Park, 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 12, 2013 with Joe Perez officiating.
