Vikki A. Montgomery Wells
San Benito, TX:
Vikki Wells, 57, peacefully went home to be with the Lord, Monday, March 24, 2008 surrounded by her loving family at Valley Baptist Medical Center. She was born to Richard T. Montgomery, Sr., and Ethel Sellers Montgomery in Floresville, Texas on March 22, 1951.
She was preceded in death by her Dad, Richard T. Montgomery Sr., and her step-father, Richard Vainwright “Papaw”.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 38 years, Jim A. Wells; daughters, Tammi Greer (Bill), Kimberle Wells, and Brandy Wells; her grandchildren, Travis, Damian, and Hannah; her mother, Ethel Montgomery Vainwright; and brother, Richard T. Montgomery Jr. “Dikki” and four step-siblings.
After graduating from Harlingen High School in 1969, she received a degree in Education from Pan-Am in 1974. She taught school for one year, then she decided to stay home and raise her three daughters, where she was involved in all of their activities, and particularly loved coaching their baseball teams. She was Wells Brothers Farms book-keeper for many years. For several years was employed at San Benito Co-op Gin Association, and for the past 8 years, Vikki loved her job as office manager at Rangerville Co-op Gin.
Vikki absolutely loved life! She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, gardening, arts and crafts, reading, and playing bunco. She enjoyed traveling and during her visits to M.D. Anderson would head to La. to play a few slot machines.
She will be greatly missed and always will live in our hearts remembering her fun-loving spirit and contagious laugh.
A memorial service will be Friday, March 28th, at 10 a.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Pastor Art E. Beckwith officiating.
