Victor L. Rendon, a lifelong resident of San Benito, TX. Passed away on Sunday, February 9th, 2014 at, Valley Baptist Medical Center Hospital, in Harlingen, TX at the age of 88. He was born on November 23, 1925 in Brownsville, TX to the late Francisco and Guadalupe (Leal) Rendon.
Victor was a Veteran of World War ll (European and Pacific Theaters) and the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gila Puente Rendon, son, Reynaldo Rendon, siblings, Emilio, Ramon, Ruben Rendon, and Emma Rendon Cantu.
He is survived by his nine children Rosalinda (Joe) Rodriguez, Victor Jr., Rodolfo (Josefa) Rendon, Lucila Rendon, Diana Rendon, Cynthia (Armando) Weaver, Elizabeth (Mark) Sherman, Rolando (JoAnn) Rendon, Milton (Melinda) Rendon, his twenty-three Grandchildren, and twenty-three Great Grandchildren. Three sisters, Elodia Valdez, Lydia Dominguez, and Lupita Garcia, numerous nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 11th, 2014 at San Benito FH. A chapel service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, February 12th, 2014 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Cemetery.
