Victor Manuel Gonzales

Victor Manuel Gonzales , a native of San Benito, Texas, passed peacefully from this life on Saturday, December 9, 2017 after a brave battle with kidney disease.  He was born to Jose Maria Gonzales and Aurora Garcia Gonzales on March 30, 1950.    Victor retired after a 39-year-long career as an aircraft mechanic.

Left to treasure Victor’s memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Silvia Gomez Gonzales; his children, Gabriel Gonzales, Mary Andreina Gonzales (Moises), Victor Eric Gonzales (Cynthia); grandchildren Sarah, Tristan, Samuel, Kaitlyn, Kaleb, and Katherine; siblings, Cecilia, Josefina, Herminia, Anita, Susie, Elida, Estela, Gloria, Raquel, Joe, and David; mother-in-law, Sofia Gomez.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Maria and Aurora G. Gonzales; brother, Gilberto; sister, Delia; and father-in-law, Emeterio Gomez.

The Gonzales family will be receiving friends and relatives on Wednesday, December 13, 2107 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in San Benito.   A graveside service will take place on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Victor’s sons, Gabriel and Victor Eric Gonzales; nephews, Felipe Hernandez, Tomas Rangel, and Gilbert Gonzales, Jr.; and his son-in-law, Moises Hernandez.

The Gonzales family wishes to express its appreciation to the caring medical professionals at DaVita Valley Baptist – Harlingen Dialysis, the numerous physicians who tended to Victor, and to the American Kidney Fund for their generous support.
