Vera R. Gilbert

Vera Rebecca “Peggy” Gilbert passed away peacefully just one day shy of her 97th birthday. She was born in Harlingen, Texas on December 24, 1927, and met the Lord on December 23, 2024.

A devout Christian, Peggy held a strong faith that guided her throughout her life. She will be remembered fondly for her love of roosters; her collection was impressive and brought her great joy. She also eagerly welcomed friends who visited and always had a cup of coffee ready. She cherished her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Linard Gilbert. She is survived by her two daughters, Becky Tresnicky (Dave) and Kathy Schwartz (Rick); her grandchildren, Sonya Guzman (John), Nick Tresnicky, Heather Heard (Greg), and Ricky Schwartz; along with her great-grandchildren, Joshua Tresnicky, Allison Tresnicky, Nathan Guzman, and Austin Guzman.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to DHR Hospice, especially Dr. James Castillo and his staff, as well as the friends and staff at Valley View Assisted Living, for their compassionate care and support during her time there.
