Tyree Howard “T.H.” Gibson, 81, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Harlingen Medical Center.
Tyree was born March 10, 1929 in Flemington, MO to Norman and Mary K. Gibson. T.H. graduated from Houstonia High School of Houstonia, MO in 1946 and then proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force. He was a life-long farmer and owned and operated Gibson Implement Allis Chalmers Dealer from the late 1950’s to 1983.
T.H. was a member of the Houstonia Community Church in Houstonia, MO, American Legion Post 439 of La Feria, TX, and the Elks Lodge #2057 of Weslaco, TX. He enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren and enjoyed companionship of many friends. Throughout his life, T.H. had a passion for the ranch life style which included farming and all aspects of cattle raising.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman D. and Mary K. Gibson and one brother, William Gibson.
T.H. is survived by his loving wife Mary Virginia Gibson; his children, Debbie (Donald) Keele of Warsaw, MO, Pamela (Mike) Crawford of Warsaw, MO and Gina (Tim) Doogs of Sedalia, MO; siblings, Pauline Mosley of California, Marva Lee Farris of Alabama, Lu Cook of Missouri and Marvin Gibson of Sedalia, MO; grandchildren, Donald Keele II, Tyrena Scott, Charles Crawford, and Robert Odom; six great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Frank Johnson and Gary Johnson both of Sedalia, MO and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
