Trinidad G. Bazan

September 30, 1925 — June 21, 2018

Trinidad G. Bazan, 92, a longtime resident of Pharr, Texas, peacefully passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on June 21, 2018.  She was born to Dionicio and Santos C. Gonzalez in Granjeno, Texas.

After graduating from La Joya High School in 1945, Trinidad attended Draughon’s Business College in San Antonio on a full scholarship.  She found great satisfaction in her career as a bookkeeper in the furniture and jewelry business.  Trinidad enjoyed gardening, shopping, reading, celebrating birthdays and anniversaries of her family members, visiting her family, and spending time in prayer with her Lord.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Bazan, whom she cared for at home until his passing; her father, Dionicio Gonzalez; her mother, Santos Gonzalez, whom she cared for at home until her passing; brothers and spouses, Macario C. (Enedina) Gonzalez, Canuto (Barbara) Gonzalez, Ramon (Baselina) Gonzalez; sisters and spouses, Leonor (Pedro) Ochoa, Manuela (Tomas) Ochoa, Dolores (Josue) Vargas, Maria (Basilio) De Luna.

Left to treasure Trinidad’s memory and carry on her legacy are her daughter, Maria, (LCDR Ret. Alfredo) Arredondo; grandchildren, Capt. Alfredo J. Arredondo, USMC, Natalia Arredondo; niece, Maria Esmeralda (Juan) Garcia, whom she raised from the age of two months; Maria Esmeralda’s sons, whom she loved as grandsons, LTC (Ret.) Juan R. (Tracey Lynne) Garcia, Jr., Alexandria, VA and his 10 grandchildren; LTC (Ret.) Daniel (Maria) Garcia, III, San Antonio, TX, their three children and three grandchildren.

Trinidad’s family will be receiving friends and relatives on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at San Benito Funeral Home.  A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7:00 PM on Sunday.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 25, 2018, Fr. Mario Alberto Castro and Fr. Isaac Erondu, celebrants.  Interment will take place at 1:00 PM at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr, Texas.

The family will welcome floral tributes or Mass intentions at your local parish.
