Harlingen:
Toni Lyn Sasek (Davenport) Gonzales went to be with the Lord May 6, 2007 at the age of 47. A resident of Texas for 35 years, she was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on January 27, 1960.
Toni received her Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX as an Occupational Therapist. Through her love of animals-dogs, cats and horses Toni had one of 32 certified facilities in the United States to do hypo therapy for many children. She has also taught equestrian skills with her horses. In recent years she was an occupational therapist at the Easter Seals working with special needs children. Her dedication and loving care will be missed. Toni believed she was doing God’s work.
She is survived by her children, Kirsten M. Davenport, Marsha Lyn Davenport and Douglas I. Davenport; her father John Albert Sasek of Iowa; her mother, Joan M. Caulfield of Texas; her sister Sheila M. King of Washington; brothers, Glen A Sasek, Sr. of North Carolina, Ken Lee Sky of Florida, Rick G. Sasek of California; and her grandmother, Bernice Sasek of Iowa.
Visitation hours will be held Wednesday, May 9, 2007 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 710 Ed Carey Drive, Harlingen, Texas.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, May 10, 2007, 10 a.m., at St. Albans Episcopal Church with Rev. Judy Sessions officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Easter Seals, 1514 S. 77 Sunshine Strip, Harlingen, Texas 78550.
