Tommy L. Graham

August 15, 1943 — March 1, 2010

Harlingen:
Tommy L. Graham born August 15, 1943 in Harlingen, TX passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 1, 2010.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carole; son, Jack Graham, his wife, Cynthia of Brownsville; daughter, USAF Captain Sherry Graham, currently serving in Afghanistan; her husband, USAF Captain Blane Neufeld,  stationed at Tinker AFB, OK; sister, Shirley Ann James of Harlingen; two grandchildren, Taylor and Shelby Mena; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas James and Margaruite Graham.
Tommy was the proud owner of Tommy Graham’s Paint and Body Shop, family owned and operated with his son, Jack, in Harlingen since 1978.  He was a graduate of the 1961 class of Harlingen High School and began his career in the body shop business at Boggus Ford.  He subsequently joined the Texas Army National Guard in 1965 where he served in a Recon Platoon. He always loved his country and took pride in all those who served. With his wife and children in tow, he was an avid hunter and fisherman where his favorite years were spent on the King Ranch as President of the Valley Hunting Club…always in search of the ultimate B&C buck.  He never missed an opportunity to laugh and share stories with his friends; and brag about his cooking, which was always suspect to his wife and kids (if your mouth wasn’t on fire, it wasn’t ready yet).
Tommy was a husband first, a father second, and a friend always.  He loved his family, his employees, and lastly he loved life, which he lived to fullest.  He will be missed by all who knew him, but never forgotten.
Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
A celebration of Tommy’s life will be at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home in Harlingen, 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 8, 2010.  Burial will follow with Full Military Honors at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
