Timothy J. Guerrero, 47, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 in Harlingen.
Tim was born May 25, 1964 in Evergreen Park, IL to Alfredo and Charlene Guerrero. He graduated from McAllen Memorial High School in 1982 and then attended Police Officer Training Academy and received a Texas Peace Office License. Tim was Chief of Police for Valley International Airport and Operations Security Supervisor for Hobby Airport. He was also employed by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department and the Clute Police Department. Tim was a member of Trinity Christian Center, an aviation enthusiast, and an avid animal lover.
He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Guerrero of Harlingen, TX and Kelsey Guerrero of Dickinson, TX; son, Chad Stevens of Galveston, TX; father, Alfredo Guerrero and Sharon Queen of Sugarland, TX; brother, Rick Guerrero of Geneva, Switzerland; sister-in-law, Bonny Guerrero; niece, Brooke Guerrero; and nephew Haden Guerrero. Also surviving are his friends, Brady Cooper of Angleton, TX, Trea and Bryan Wren of Harlingen, TX, Tony Rodriguez of Houston, TX, Josie Lewis of Houston, TX, Col. Brian D. Childs of Harlingen, TX and the Valley International Police Department and Airport Employees.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene Guerrero.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
A celebration of Tim’s life will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011, 6 p.m., at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Rev. David Mann, officiating.
Col. Brian D. Childs and member of the Marine Flyby Military Academy-Airway will be performing a Missing Man Formation in honor of Tim. The Flyby will be flown over the funeral home at 5:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1532, Harlingen, Texas 78551 or Odyssey Health Care of Southwest Texas (Hospice), 2501 Paredes Line Rd, #B9, Brownsville, TX 78526.
The family wishes to thank Trea and Bryan Wren for their unwavering love and support for Tim through his illness and the healthcare team at Odyssey Hospice.
