Thora Breedlove Newman

Thora Breedlove Newman, 88, passed away on April 8, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center – Harlingen.
Thora was born December 11, 1920 in Tupelo, OK to Elam Clay and Lula Scott Breedlove. She attended Texas Southmost Jr. College and was employed by Rio Grande Savings and Loan and San Benito Bank and Trust. Thora was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Harlingen. She enjoyed traveling and needlepoint.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Newman; three sisters; and one brother.
Thora is survived by her son Jim Newman and three sisters.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 13, 2009, 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Harlingen with Rev. Chris Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
