Thomas Charles Atchison

HARLINGEN:
Thomas Charles Atchison, 66, was born May 6, 1941 in Rockford, Illinois and died August 22, 2007 at Harlingen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Harlingen, Texas.
His parents, A. Mansfield and Edna Atchison, and a son, Thomas C. Atchison Jr., predeceased him.
Mr. Atchison is survived by a daughter, Tiffany Atchison of Colorado Springs, Colorado; an aunt, Rosemary Bryden of North Hollywood, California; a sister, Marcia Carlen, and husband Jans of Pottersville, New Jersey; a niece, Abigail Carlen of New York, New York; a nephew, Matthew Carlen of Baltimore, Maryland, and a devoted friend and caregiver, Frances Flores of Harlingen, Texas.
Mr. Atchison graduated from Harlem High School in Loves Park, Illinois in 1959 and attended Valparaiso Technical School in Valparaiso, Indiana.  He loved electronics and worked in a radio repair shop when he was young.
He moved from Illinois to Dallas, Texas in 1975.  He lived in Houston and San Antonio before settling in Harlingen in 1993.  Mr. Atchison moved Rogers, Arkansas to care for his father in 2000, and returned to Harlingen in 2002.
Mr. Atchison worked in sales and distribution and was a security guard for many years.  He founded TCP Marketing Enterprises to promote country singers.  He attended many shows sponsored by the Texas Heritage Foundation and was honored there in 2007.  He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Harlingen, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., September 15, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church.  The Reverend Kathryn Cox will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1001 E. Jackson Street, Harlingen, TX 78550.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Rockford, Illinois.
