Theresa M. Stringer

Theresa M. Stringer, 83, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. Theresa was born to Edward and Matilde (Valinski) Block on December 5, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan.
She married Willard N. Stringer on January 26, 1952 and had a wonderful family and life together. Theresa was formerly from Sterling Heights, Michigan before retiring and RVing across the country and finally settling in the Rio Grande Valley in both Mission, Texas and Harlingen, Texas. She was a faithful practicing Catholic.
She is survived by her husband, Willard Stringer of Harlingen, Texas; sons, Timothy Stringer of Ray Township, Michigan and Michael Stringer of Waldorf, Maryland; grandsons, Jason Stringer, Eric Stringer, Ryan Stringer; granddaughters, Melissa Waller, Brittany Fields, Victoria Burke, Emily Stringer; great grandson, Aiden Burke; brother, Edward Block, Jr.; sister, Gloria Werner; nieces, Connie Mallot and Carolyn Werner; nephew, Chris Werner. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Chuckie Block, sister, Arlene Buck and a daughter, Dawn Stringer.
Visitation hours will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 6, 2016 with burial services to follow in Maryland at a later date.
