Theresa (Teddy) Jackson, 89, went to be with the Lord, August 31, 2012, at Harlingen Medical Center. She was born August 26, 1923, in Santa Rosa, Texas; to Frances Anzalune Caruso and Pasquale (Charlie) Caruso.
Teddy was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Anthony (Tony) Joseph Jackson; brothers, Charlie Caruso, Sam Caruso and Tony Caruso; sisters, Rosa Caruso, Josephine Caruso Palmisano and Mary Wright.
She is survived by her daughter: Frances Purvis (Jon) of Harlingen, Texas; granddaughter, Heather Howells (Jonathan) and great granddaughter, Cheyenne Grace Howells of Nine Mile Falls, Washington; her brother, Thomas Caruso of La Feria, and several nieces and nephews.
Teddy graduated from La Feria High School and attended Business College until she started work at National Biscuit Co. She was later employed at Federal Butane. Teddy worked for San Benito Medical Clinic in San Benito from 1967 to 2010, except for a brief retirement, when she volunteered at Valley Baptist and with Harlingen Host for six months. Her work was her life and the doctors and employees there were like family. She looked forward to going to work every day to be with them all.
Teddy became a member of First Christian Church in Harlingen in 1957. She had many dear friends and a loving pastor, Mark Coppins that cared for her continually.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 1st, at 2 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 710 Ed Carey Dr., Harlingen, Texas. Burial will be private.
