Thelma Simich, 101, of La Feria entered into rest on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center. Thelma was born March 16, 1907 in Hall Summit, LA to Edward and Eva Martin.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years L.J. Simich; her mother and father; and nine brothers.
Thelma is survived by her daughter, Mary Eleanor; three sons, Louis E, Michael (Kathy) and Joseph D. (Pat); seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7 p.m.
A celebration of a funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 24, 2008, 10 a.m., at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Interment will follow at La Feria Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, P.O. Box 116, La Feria, TX 78559 or La Feria Cemetery 24574 N. Kansas City Rd, La Feria, TX 78559.
