Teresa Gonzales

Teresa Gonzales, 90, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, July 6, 2020 after a brief illness.  A native of Dearborn, Michigan, Teresa was born on October 4, 1929 to the late Pedro and Felipa Buendia Gonzalez.

Teresa enjoyed sewing, gardening, and raising and feeding animals. However, nothing compared with how much she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Felipa Gonzalez; family members, Anselmo Gonzales, Lalito Gonzales, Pancho Gonzales, Inocensio Gonzales, Chencho Gonzales, Roque Gonzales, Maria Gonzales, and Lazaro Rojas, Jr.

Teresa is survived by her children, Lasaro Rojas, Juan Rojas, Pablo Rojas, Cresencio Rojas, Blanca Rojas, and Delia Rojas; 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 50-60 great-great-great grandchildren.

She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Teresa’s family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, July 10, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home.  A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock on Friday evening.  A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home with Fr. Mario Alberto Castro officiating.  Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Juan Rodriguez, Jr., Jose Escobedo, Michael Trevino, Chris Rojas, Juan Rojas, and Juan Rojas, Jr.  Amanda Barrera, Ashley Yvonne Gonzales-Cortez, and Cindy Rojas will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Teresa’s family thanks all the medical staff at Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen for their compassionate care.
