Ted Lee Daniell, 67, of Harlingen, TX, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2024. He was born on July 24, 1956, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Ted graduated from Harlingen High School in 1975, dominating the football field and making lifelong friendships known as “The Peckerwoods”. After high school, he started his journey of learning the family business of construction and management. While building a house for Dr. Chuck Denton, he met his beautiful and loving wife, Melissa Denton, and the two married in 1981.
Ted was as a self-employed general contractor/developer building single-family homes, apartments, condos, and shopping centers in the Harlingen/South Padre area including the Treasure Hills subdivision. Ted moved to Kona, Hawaii and began Pualani Development and was committed to bring affordable housing to the area. After returning to Harlingen, he developed and helped manage Oak Terrace Apartments. Ted loved hunting and offshore fishing with his dear friend Randy Bauer, and spending time with family and friends. He also took immense pleasure firing up the grill for family gatherings.
Ted is survived by his wife of 43 years, Melissa Denton Daniell; children Dr. Jessica (Tim) Hruska and Jacob (Nicole) Daniell; grandchildren Kayleigh, Kendall (Brandon), Morgan, Tyler, Beau, Colt, and soon-to-be-born Johnna Blayke; and sister Becky (Dan) Matthews. He is preceded in death by his parents Leon and Loretta Daniell.
