San Benito, TX: Sylvia G. Barbour, 63, of San Benito, TX passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan L. Gamez Sr. and Jacoba Deanda Gamez; and her siblings, Delia G. Aguilar, Juan L. Gamez Jr., and Rudy D. Gamez.
Sylvia is survived by her husband and soulmate of 43 yrs, Jose G. Barbour of San Benito TX; her daughters, Jacqueline Barbour of Lubbock, TX; and Sylvia Ann (Ronald) Flores of Harlingen TX; her son, Joseph R. Barbour of San Benito, TX; 10 grandchildren, Matthew R. Macias, Brittni N. Macias, Amber M. Henry, Jaliyah K. Barbour, Tanya M. Parra, Tiffani D. Flores, Tristan A. Flores, Jacob A. Barbour, Jaiden M. Barbour, and Taylor B. Barbour; a great granddaughter, Aliezay L. Jaramillo; 3 siblings, Celia Gamez, Margaret G. Salazar, and Albert Gamez; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She loved life, and loved being the life of the party, she loved making people laugh. She was loved by everyone and devoted her life to caring for her grandchildren. She will be missed dearly. We now have the biggest Dallas Cowboys fan watching over them from heaven.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
