Stuart F. Joynt, Jr., 82, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at his residence in Harlingen, Texas.
Stuart was born January 24, 1927 in Cambridge, Ohio to Stuart F. Joynt, Sr. and Laura Dersey Joynt. He attended RPI Rensselaer Polytech Institute and was employed as a Metallurgist Engineer with Republic Steel in Buffalo, NY and Columbus McKinnon in Tonawanda, NY. Stuart proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a member to St. Anthony Catholic Church in Harlingen, TX.
Stuart was preceded in death by his parents Stuart F. and Laura Joynt; and his first wife, Claire Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Lily M. Donze; his children, Karen Joynt of Buffalo, NY and Stuart Joynt III and his wife Rose Joynt of Columbia, KY; his step-children, Debbie Donze of Salmon, ID, Alvin C. (Melanie) Donze Jr. of St. Marys, MO, Catherine (Mark) Kreutner of Springfield, MO, Robert (Rhonda) Donze of Yorktown, VA, Jim (Debra) Donze of Lake Forest, MO, Steve (Anne) Donze of Bloomsdale, MO, Geri (Doug) Boyer of Belleville, IL, Mary Beth (Carl) Huxe of Washington, MO and Teresa McClure of Ste. Genevieve, MO. Also surviving Stuart are his grandchildren, Stuart Joynt IV, Brandon Joynt , Ben Joynt all of Winchester, KY, Ashley Zacmyc, Jean Gates, and Allen Gates all of Buffalo, NY; twenty-six step-grandchildren; great grandson, Stuart Joynt V; and seven step-great grandchildren.
A memorial mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 9 Dakota St. in Buffalo, NY on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 1 p.m. with Father Joseph Wolf, officiating. Burial will be at Ste. Genevieve Catholic Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve, MO at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Buffalo Zoo, the World Birding Center in South Padre Island, TX, Ramsey Park in Harlingen, TX and Valle School Foundation in Ste. Genevieve, MO.
