Sr. Airman Michael Anthony Garcia, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away to his eternal salvation on December 11, 2009 in Bellvue, Nebraska. He was 23 years old.
Michael was proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force stationed at Offutt Air Force Base. He had many friends and loved ones there. He was a native of San Benito, Texas. He graduated from San Benito High School in 2004. He was best known for his intelligence and ability to make everyone around him laugh. There was never a dull moment around Michael. He had a passion for roller blading. He was a brilliant star that shone on all around him. To be around Michael was to know his joy of living life to the fullest. He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Antonio M. Garcia and two baby brothers, Stephen and Matthew Becerra.
He leaves behind to mourn his loss, mother, Rosanna G. Becerra; father, Joseph Becerra; brothers, Jonathan and Nicholas Becerra; sister, Alyssa Becerra; maternal grandmother, Dolores Garcia; paternal grandparents, Manuel and Gloria Becerra; aunts and uncles: Leticia (Luis) Arguelles; Maricela Garcia; Adriana Gonzales; Mario (Mireya) Garcia; Ymelda (Andy) Vaughan; Xavier (Claudia) Garcia; Albert Garcia; Maria Dolores (Mario) Moreno; and Robert (Cathy) Becerra; numerous cousins and uncountable friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 17, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with rosary at 7:00 p.m.at San Benito Funeral Home.
Services will be held Friday, December 18, 2009 at Queen of the Universe Catholic Church in San Benito, Texas at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Mont Meta Cemetery in San Benito, Texas.
