Sophie Longoria Lozano, was born on November 18, 1915 in Harlingen, TX and passed peacefully in her sleep to join her Lord February 8, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lozano, and her son, Henry Alfred, and grandchild, Charles Painter III, brothers, Arturo and Francisco, and sisters, Angelita and Aurora.
She is survived by her three daughters, Teddi Painter from Goodyear, Arizona, Mary Ann Lozano (Dale) Harlingen, TX, and Sophie Rogers (Wayne) Rosemount, MN. She is survived by her sister, Bertha (Martin) Rodriguez, and brother Manuel (Cecilia) Longoria of Harlingen, TX and grandchildren, Robert Painter, San Diego, California, Sovay Reeder, Adam Rogers, and Phillip Rogers, all of Austin, TX and Lindi (John) Underwood of New Philadelphia, OH and two great grandchildren, Alec and Madeline Underwood, New Philadelphia, OH.
Mrs. Lozano enjoyed serving the public as a professional seamstresHarlingens of dance and recital costumes and later worked at and retired from Suburban Casuals, a women’s clothing store. Mrs. Lozano was a member of the Guadalupinos at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and she will also be remembered by many she met over the years while taking her daily brisk walk around the City Lake.
Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a Rosary service being held at 7:00 PM at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 11, 2012. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
