Simplicio Gonzalez Sr.

San Benito, TX- Simplicio Gonzalez, Sr., 86, entered into eternal rest Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Sunshine Haven in Olmito.
He was a devoted parishioner of St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Defiance. OH where he served as a Layman.
He retired from General Motors after 25 years of service; he enjoyed music, singing, gardening and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Amelia Gonzalez; his daughters, Maria Gonzalez and Amelia Gonzalez; his son, Candelario Zamarripa; his brothers, Soilo Gonzalez, Leonel Gonzalez, and Reyes Gonzalez; and his sister, Lorreta Lozano.
Simplicio is survived by his children, Aurelia (Luis) Trevino of Fostoria, OH; Margarita (Crispin) Cruz of Hillsdale, MI; Armando (Lynn) Zamarripa of Florida, OH; Grace (Frank) Belmares of Holgate, OH; Feliciana (Ramiro) Sanchez of Baytown, TX; Mateo Gonzalez of San Benito, TX; Simplicio (Norma) Gonzalez of Washington, DC; and Eduardo Gonzalez of Hillsdale, MI; and his 25 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with the Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.

Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at San Benito Funeral Home with Rev. David Mann officiating.  Entombment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Armando Zamarripa, Frank Belmares, Michael Rucker, Jose Sanchez, Sr., Jose Feliciano Sanchez, and Jose Ramiro Sanchez, Jr.
