Shirley Belle Ellis Eddy, 74, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2007 after a long illness at Valley Baptist Medical Center. Shirley was born April 24, 1933 in Banner Township, IL on the family farm. She was the sixth and youngest child of Abbie and James Ellis. Shirley graduated from Canton High School in Canton, IL at the age of 16 years and on September 30, 1950 she married Donald Eddy. Shirley was a real estate agent in Rockford, IL for many years and most recently worked for EIS, Inc. in Harlingen, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abbie and James Ellis; brothers, Fred and John Ellis; sisters, Nellie Wages, Bettie Johnson, and Margaret Riley; and her husband, Donald Eddy.
Shirley is survived by her sons, William Eddy and his wife Carol of Harlingen and Bradley Eddy and his wife Brenda of Slinger, WI; grandsons, Sean Eddy and his wife Michelle Green Bay, WI and Chad Eddy and his wife Scarlette of Fond du Lac, WI; great granddaughters, Faith and Morgan Eddy of Green Bay, WI; numerous nieces and nephews and family in Illinois, Texas, Louisiana and South Carolina.
Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2007 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home.
