Shirley G. Beane

October 6, 1933 — March 5, 2015

Shirley Grace Graybill Beane lost her battle with Alzheimer’s on Thursday, March 5, 2015.
She is survived by her beloved children, Linda Kay Beane Egerton and David Leroy Beane and her daughter-in-law Karen Beane. Also blessed by knowing her are a wide host of friends who will always remember her hearty laugh.  She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John Frank Graybill and Minnie Lorine Edington Graybill, her sister Frances Graybill Shannon and her ex-husband Daniel Edward Beane.
Shirley was a Harlingen resident, graduating from Harlingen High School and married in 1951 at the Harlingen First Christian Church, which she attended as a dedicated member until she was physically no longer able to attend. She enjoyed square dancing for many years and was an Avon Lady, consistently leading in sales and rising to regional manager for a time.  Shirley was an avid cat lover and always had a marmalade tabby.
Shirley was blessed by caring staff at Canterbury Court Assisted Living in Harlingen, Colonial Oaks Assisted Living in Houston and Seven Acres Jewish Senior Care Center in Houston as well as the excellent hospice care she received from Vitas Healthcare.
Services will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Coppins of the First Christian Church officiating. A visitation will occur on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Buck Ashcraft from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
