Sherry Ann Cox, 65, passed away peacefully at her home in Rio Hondo, TX on Sunday, August 1, 2010.
Sherry was born March 28, 1945 in Brownwood, TX to James and Ludie Doud. She was a former resident of Mesquite, TX and had been a resident of Rio Hondo, TX since 2006. She was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in Combes, TX where she became involved with the church’s Matamoras Children’s Home. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, cake decorating, and bowling.
Sherry is survived by her husband, Richard E. Cox. Sr.; children, Vicki Werry of Azle, TX, Susan DePauw and husband, Floyd of Flower Mound, TX, Linda Akau and husband, Derrick, Sr. of Mesquite, TX, Richard E. Cox, Jr., and wife, Barbara of East Africa, Alesia Faith Cox of Rowlett, TX; son-in-law, Jay Roesle of Rowlett, TX; sisters, Mary Beth Whisenhunt of Austin, TX and Hattie Marlene Burns and husband, Joe of San Angelo, TX; 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, J.L. Doud, Walter Doud and Rod Doud; sisters, Carolyn Doud and Betty Ruth Doud.
Visitation hours will be held from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, August 2, 2010 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at the Faith Assembly of God Church in Combes, TX, 4:00 PM, Tuesday, August 3, 2010 with Pastor George De La Garza officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
