Sara "Sally" Felice McBee

July 13, 1943 — February 1, 2022

Sara “Sally” Felice McBee, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on February 1, 2022 in Harlingen, Texas at the age of 78.

In December 2018, she moved from Overland Park, Kansas to Harlingen, Texas with her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Edward Morlock. They enjoyed family life together and celebrated three snow-free holidays near South Padre Island, Texas

Sally was born on July 13, 1943 in Washington, D.C. Prior to moving to Kansas City, Sally lived in Winchester, Virginia, St. Louis, Missouiri, and many other cities around the United States. Most of Sally’s family remains in Virginia. She became especially close to the McBee family in Kansas where she lived with her husband Jim.

Sally rose to Controller of AgriPro Biosciences, Inc. in Merriam, Kansas where she worked from 1977 to 1995. She loved accounting work, spending time with family, gardening and reading mystery books. Sally and Jim also rescued many cats in their time together, all beloved pets. She enjoyed traveling and her favorite trips with Jim were to South Padre Island, an Alaskan cruise, and a family trip to the Grand Canyon.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James “Jim” McBee; her parents, James S. Goode and Frances L. Trott; and her brother, David L. Stuart.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin Morlock and her husband Edward; son, Scott Starace and his wife Debbie; son, Robert “Bob” Starace and his wife Mellissa; her son, Richard “Rick” McBee and his wife Laurie; and daughter-in-law, Joni Starace. She is lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren, Pamela (McBee) Haberman, Matthew Starace, Christian Starace, Shelby Starace, Jonathan Starace, Katie Starace, Robert “Bob” Starace, Jennifer McDaniel, and Joseph McDaniel; five great-grandchildren, Gavin, Joseph, Claire, Noah and Aaliyah; sisters-in-law, Pat Smith, Ethel Golubski, and Gina McBee; niece, Patty Cole; and, many McBee family members that meant the world to her. She treasured lifetime friends Susan Walker and Marit Roman and spoke often of the great times together.

Sally’s daughter, Robin, as well as Virginia Mar and Alicia Fannell, helped to care for Sally in her last three years and became dear friends.

A graveside service will take place Monday, June 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas where Sally and Jim will be together once again..
