Santiago Cruz, 82, passed away unexpectedly on August 25, 2020. He was born to the late Guillermo and Dominga Ramirez Cruz on December 5, 1937 in La Paloma, TX.
Santiago was a lifelong farmer. As a young man, Santiago’s work took him as far away as Nicaragua. It was there he met a young, beautiful, Nicaragua-born woman named Clarisa. He and Clarisa married and made a wonderful life of 54 years together.
Left to treasure Santiago’s memory are his wife, Clarisa S. Cruz; children, Santiago (Vanessa) Cruz, Maria Adilia (Hector) Garcia, Santiago Cruz, Jr., Tom (Vero) Cruz, Isidro (Genevieve) Cruz, and Robert (Britany) Cruz; grandchildren, Hector Hugo Garcia, Jr., Santiago Cruz III, Greg Cruz, Mia Cruz, Leah Cruz, Jeremy Cruz, Angelin Starr Cruz, Vaughn Taylor Cruz, Fabrizzo Cruz, Brooke Rae Cruz, Suri Lee Cruz, Jaxon Edward Cruz, Ty Logan Cruz, Skylene Grace Cruz, Robert Michael Cruz, Allie Jo Cruz, Aaliyah Ace Cruz, Denise Autumn Leal, Joshua Michael Leal, Santiago E. Cruz, Matt E. Cruz; siblings, Leonila (Raul) Limon, Dominga (Pedro) Meza, Guillermo “Willie” (Elena) Cruz.
Santiago was preceded in death by his parents, Guillermo and Dominga R. Cruz; daughter, Dominga Cruz and son, Pedro Cruz; sisters, Damacia Lopez, Katherine Koite, Maria N. Meza, and San Juana Sifuentes.
The Cruz family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. (Click on the link below to view a live-stream of the recitation of the Holy Rosary.) Rite of Committal and interment will take place Friday, August 28, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
