Sandra Lowe Hoppe, 74, passed away August 6, 2014 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.
Sandy was born May 5, 1940 in Borger, Texas to William Forest Lowe and Maxine Colwell Lowe. She attended and graduated from Winters High School. While in high school, Sandy was involved in many organizations and activities; some were member of the National Honor Society, voted Class Favorite and Blizzard Queen. Then she went on to attend Texas Tech University and McMurry University. On June 30, 1960 Sandy married Jimmie L. Hoppe. She taught summer school and elementary school in San Antonio, Texas, preschool in San Angelo, Texas and was also employed as a librarian at West Branch Library in San Angelo, Texas.
Sandy was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma while at McMurry University and was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie L. Hoppe of Harlingen; daughter, Kim Cato of Denver Colorado and son, Zane Hoppe and his wife Lois of Colleyville, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Forest and Maxine Lowe.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Saenz officiating.
