San Juanita Garza, age 79, peacefully passed away on February 27, 2025, in Flower Mound, Texas. She was born on May 26, 1945, in San Benito, Texas, to Manuel Garza and Erlinda Infante.
San Juanita dedicated her career to safely transporting patients, making a positive impact on their lives. She was a person of deep faith and held strong ties to her Catholic beliefs. San Juanita embraced a wide range of interests, including watching thrilling unsolved murder documentaries and horror films. She was an avid follower of popular movie franchises, particularly Star Wars and The Fast & Furious. A true music enthusiast, she adored the legendary Elvis Presley and the cherished Selena. Above all, her loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys was unwavering, and she passionately cheered for her team.
San Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, her uncle Eliberto Sanchez, her grandmother Amalia Sanchez who raised her, and her cherished dog, JD. She is survived by her sister, Esperanza Acosta; her uncle, Jose Sanchez; as well as nieces and nephews, including Janie Garza, Paul Yanes, Teresa Wieslander, Eziquiel Yanes III, Jennifer Yanes, and Elicia Acosta. Additionally, she is remembered by her grandnieces and grandnephews, Dora Garza, Chelsea Villarreal, George Garza, Jordan Garza, Marcus Gonzalez, Ty Wieslander, Toryn Wieslander, Leah Yanes, Amalia Yanes, Jazmine Yanes, along with three great-nephews, one great-niece, and various cousins.
The Garza family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, March 9, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Buck Ashcraft San Benito Funeral Home. A recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 o’clock Sunday evening. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Following the Mass, San Juanita will be laid to rest at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Paul Yanes, Oscar Garza, Ladd Wieslander, George Garza, Jordan Garza, Ty Wieslander. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Villarreal, Cesar Ojeda and Cynthia Yanes.
