Harlingen:
Samuel Loren Graham, 86, our beloved husband, father, and great grandfather has moved from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Tuesday, April 12, 2011.
Sammy as known by family and friends was born on August 29, 1924 to William Alexander and Carrie Anice (Thomas) Graham in Tyler, TX.  At an early age the family moved to the Rio Grande Valley where Sammy attended Pharr San Juan Alamo High School.
On January 12, 1944, Sammy enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II.  After discharged he enlisted in the USSNR (Navy Reserve) until March 5, 1955.  He was honorably discharged after serving 10 years, 1 month and 27 days in the Navy.
On September 4, 1945, he and Jeanie were married.  She was working during World War II as a relief operator with the Western Union Company.  They have been married for over 65 years.
Sammy was a former resident in Weslaco, TX where he was an electrician for Keller Ferris Electric Company for 10 years.  After moving to Harlingen he became Branch Manager for Sterrett Supply Company an Electric Wholeseller Supply Company and retired after 58 years of service with the company.  After retirement he worked for Flato Electric of Corpus Christi, TX for several years.
Sammy was a Baptist Deacon and served in many areas of church.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rio Hondo, TX .  He is a 60 year member of the Harlingen Masonic Lodge #1132, A.F. & A.M. and a life member of the Harlingen Chapter No. 641 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Into this union 2 sons and 1 daughter were born.  He lost the youngest son, Royce Del Graham on December 29, 2006.  Two beautiful children survive; Sammy Gene Graham (Kim) of Hutto, TX and Diana Graham Boudreaux (John) of The Woodlans, TX; surviving brothers and sisters are; Marvin (Vera) of Yukon, OK, Lonnie (June) of Plano, TX, Leo (Margie) of Twin Falls, ID, Verna Green (Lee) of Weslaco, TX, Beulah Garrett of Weslaco, TX and Cleo Graham of Bay Cliff, TX; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Roy Graham, Eugene Graham and Lee Miller and by 2 sisters, Jewel Floyd and Lucille Boyd.
A memorial service in his memory will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 16, 2011 with the Rev. Gene Horton and the Harlingen Masonic Lodge #1132 officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children – Houston, 6977 Main St., Houston, TX 77030-3701.
