Sammie E. Pye

Sammie Edwina Hagy Pye, born January 13, 1928 to Emory J. Hagy and Blanch L. Hasenmeyer Hagy in Grandfield, Oklahome, died February 26, 2007 at her apartment in Golden Palms in Harlingen, Texas.
She married Ruben R. Pye in 1951 and lived in Southlake, Texas until she moved to Harlingen in 2001. Sammie worked as an accountant in the office of Mesco Metal Bldgs., Inc. and played the piano in her church for 34 years until she moved to Harlingen.
Sammie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Donald Sidney Pye and Greg Emory Pye. She was also preceded in death by her brother, E. Jacob Hagy, Jr. and sister, Betty V. Hagy Harris.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Irma Pye, several nieces and nephews, many friends and her Golden Palms family.
Services will be held at the Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home, Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 4:00 PM after which her body will be interred in the McKinght Cemetery in Cushing, Texas.
Memorial gifts may be made to the First Untied Methodist Church of Harlingen, Sandi Jo Funk Hospice Program of Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen or to Sunshine Haven.
The family would like to thank Sammie's caregivers, Jennifer, Mandy, Martha, and Ana for their loving care.
