San Benito, TX- Salvador Farias, 85, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
He was a carpenter; he enjoyed baseball, football, and soccer; and was involved with his church as a Diacono, President of Males, Pastor de Celulas and the Misionero en Mexico.
Salvador is preceded in death by his sons, Tomas D. Farias, Miguel A. Farias, and Angel M. Farias; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Velia V. Farias; his children, Noemi Quiroga, Nelly (Mario) Rada, Jose S. Farias, Arnoldo (Diana) Farias, Eyelia Farias (Keith Crampton), Petri (Alberto) Macias, Elijio (Melinda) Farias, Zoila M. Tapia, Ismael (Carol) Farias, and Gerardo (Patricia) Farias; 30 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; his brother, Jose Farias; and sister, Evangelina (Manuel) Garza.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral precession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. for a 2:00 P.M. Funeral Service at Templo Lirio De Los Valles located at 305 Winchell St. in San Benito. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
