Sadie S. Gilbert, 99, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Veranda Nursing Home in Harlingen.
Sadie was born on November 17, 1912 in Cotton Valley, Louisiana to William Thomas and Isabelle Staton, Sr. She had been a resident of Combes since 1967 moving here from Springhill, LA. She was sales clerk for many years. Sadie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harlingen.
Sadie is survived by her sons, Billy Joe Gilbert and Thomas J. Gilbert both of Canyon Lake, TX; seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff Gilbert.
Visitation hours will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the funeral home with the family present.
Graveside services will be held at the Harlingen-Combes Cemetery, 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 11, 2012 with the Rev. David Payne officiating.
