Ruth Helen (Misener) Wolfgang, at the age of 92, passed into eternity to join her husband on January 17, 2021. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
Born Oct. 12, 1928 to Laverne & Eveline Misener, Ruth attended Bendle Community Schools and married her Navy sweetheart, Lyle Wolfgang, in 1945, while he was home on Leave. They were happily married for more than 70 years, living in the Grand Blanc, MI, area for more than 40 years. Ruth retired from GM’s Ternstedt Division, where she was a proud member of UAW Local 326, and she and Lyle summered at their cottage near Interlochen, MI, and wintered in Harlingen, TX. In 2005 they moved to Harlingen, TX where they lived their final years. Ruth loved to travel, and she and Lyle traveled the world and enjoyed 29 cruises together. When asked if she was “Ready to go?” Ruth would immediately reply that her “…toothbrush was packed!” She loved to meet people, saying, “There was no such thing as a stranger, only friends I haven’t met.”
Ruth leaves her son, Gerald (Cheryl) of Burton, Michigan; three grandsons Michael (Sandra) Moulton, Swartz Creek, MI, Devon (Deirdre) Wolfgang, Malahide, Ireland, and Matthew (Lea) Moulton, Oconomowoc, WI. She also leaves behind three great-grandchildren Kelsey, Sabrina & Sebastian Moulton. Ruth is also survived by her brothers Richard (Helen) Misener and Don Misener, both of FL, and Terry (Martha) Misener, of Swartz Creek, MI. Ruth also leaves sisters-in law Beverly and Leone Wolfgang and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Michael, and brothers Robert and Ralph. She also leaves many, many close friends at Dixieland Mobile Home Park including Dave and Dona Meinhart and Jeanne Shedler, plus her close companions Elena Gaytan and Harold Rhodes.
The family would like to thank Dr. and Mrs. Movva for their welcomed friendship and assistance and the doctors and nurses at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, and Weslaco Regional Rehab Hospital and Knapp Medical Center, both in Weslaco, for their kindness and support.
