HARLINGEN:
Ruth Carter Thompson, 94, passed quietly to be with her brothers and sisters in the presence of our Lord on Monday, May 26, after a long and productive life. Ruth was born September 18, 1912 in Cunningham, Texas to Henry Edward and Bertha Mae Carter.
She was preceded in death by her husband J.P. (Jack) Thompson and her step-son James Paul Thompson.
Ruth is survived by her step-daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Willard of Kansas City, MO and her son Richard (San Juana) Thompson of Harlingen, TX along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Buck Ashcraft Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2008.
Graveside services will be held at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2008.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
